Cherokee Town and Country Club (South)

I was fortunate enough to be invited to play the newly renovated Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta recently.  The Fazio team was invited back to the club to update the South course, and the changes are very impressive.

The approach at 1.  A bailout short left or right allows plenty of  room for options.  This is not a hole that will punch you in the mouth...

...until you reach the green, which is a sign of things to come.  The greens were completely redone by the Fazio team, while they were very firm when I played them, it is remarkable how well they looked for being so new.
Hole Number 2 - This short dogleg left could be more tempting with the removal of the pines to the right of the cart path between the sand traps, but still presents an opportunity to cut the corner or play it safe.

View from behind the green on one looking down the fairway of hole #2 - another par 4 dogleg left.
